Fiasco: The Fallout

by Nathan Russell

[Editor’s note: Fiasco is a roleplaying game designed by Jason Morningstar, writer of The Black Drop and the forthcoming Many Fires.]

Fiasco is a game about powerful ambition and poor impulse control.

It’s designed to help players make their own Coen brothers movie in about the time it would take to watch one. Starting from a tangled web of stressful Relationships, disastrous Needs, and dangerous Objects and Locations, the protagonists are tossed into a whirlpool of dark comedy from which no one emerges unscathed. Actually the least worthy might emerge unscathed, but everyone else will definitely suffer.

Nathan Russell’s playset The Fallout transports the crazed Fiasco action to a familiar, radiation-soaked future. Mutants, motorcycle gangs and Rami’s Rat Kabobs are the sauce, but the meat is still the same – sex, greed, and deep stupidity.
