You used to be a spy. You were part of the clandestine world, backed up by the full strength of the shadow state. Then you asked the wrong questions, discovered things you shouldn’t know about who really rules the world.
You found the truth. You found the vampires – and got burned.
You’re all alone against them.
One player. One Gamemaster.
The odds are against you. You’ll have to use every edge you can muster, every contact you can blackmail, every weapon you can find just to survive. But maybe, just maybe, you can fight back against the monsters.
Create your own Agent, or take on the role of Leyla Khan – an ex-MI6 officer who must confront her own half-remembered past as a thrall of the vampires!
Use the GUMSHOE One-2-One rules, designed for the thrilling intensity of head-to-head play. Navigate complex mysteries with investigative abilities! Overcome challenges with luck and mastery edges! And if you fail, pick up Injury, Heat and Shadow problems that’ll cause trouble later on.
Play through three complete adventures for Leyla Khan, or use them as templates to create your own mysteries:
- Never Say Dead: Leyla wakes up in a hospital with only fragmentary memories of her past life. She was left for dead at the side of the road. Who’s trying to kill her? Who’s trying to save her? Who can she trust?
- No Grave For Traitors: A drug war in Spain. Mysterious intrigue in London. Haunted castles in the Carpathians. Can Leyla unravel the mystery that connects these events, and stop her rivals from unlocking the door to an ancient horror?
- The Deniable Woman: Leyla’s tasked by her old allies at MI6 to investigate the disappearance of a British spy in Moscow. Can she find the missing man – or will she, too, vanish into the shadows of the Kremlin?
We’ll give you the tools you need to battle the undead princes and crime lords, all alone. But will it be enough? Find out, with Night’s Black Agents: Solo Ops!

Buy! OMG BUY!
Yes!
Ok I want this yesterday!!! :)
So are the scenarios _designed_ for the pre-made character, the way (I assume) Cthulhu Confidential’s are? Or is it just a pre-made that should fit but isn’t massively integrated?
Hoping for the former, but either way, really looking forward to it!
The scenarios are designed for the pre-made character. However, it’s easier to strip or repurpose a Night’s Black Agents scenario for another character than it is a Cthulhu Confidential character, as regardless of your precise circumstances, you’re always playing a badass ex-spy vampire hunter of some description.
WHEN MAH MONEYS U TAKE?!?!?
This is great! When can we expect this? Sometime in 2018?
Love the enthusiasm! We don’t have a release date yet – the best way to stay updated is to sign up for See Page XX here: http://site.pelgranepress.com/index.php/see-page-xx
Want. Wantwantwant. Wantwant. WANT!
Hello,
Any news on NBA one-2-one release date?
Also, are you planning to publish Dracula Dossier for one-2-one version?
If no, will DD be still playable in solo version?
We don’t have a release date yet – the best way to stay updated is to sign up for See Page XX here: http://site.pelgranepress.com/index.php/see-page-xx
We won’t be republishing Dracula Dossier for solo play, but there’ll be advice on converting it over, either in the NBA One2One book or elsewhere.
Any news so far? Any chance of playtesting? Would kill for even a small preview.
There will be an update in the next edition of See Page XX.
Just wanted to chime in that I’m interested in a 1-on-1 version of NBA also, keep up the good work guys!
I know I am boring, but maybe any updates? :)
We’re currently looking at an October release date. Further details will be announced in See Page XX.
If you release this on the 17th of October, you’ll be giving me the best birthday gift ever, just saying.
Also, will there be a “limited edition” version of it like there was for Cthulhu Confidential?
(Please say yes. I’m a sucker for limited editions)
There will probably be a limited edition. We’ll announce more info regarding types of editions later.
Any updates on a release date for NBA Solo Ops? Thanks!
It is currently on schedule to be released in February but as we get closer to then, we’ll keep you updated via See Page XX.
Thanks for the update on the expected release. Do you have an estimate on cost so I can save up my pennies! :)
Printing prices have increased and we don’t know the final page count yet so unfortunately, we don’t have an estimated price yet. We’ll announce it as soon as we do though.
Any news\confirmations regarding the limited edition?
Money is burning a whole through my pocket.
Hey Ana, issues with our printers mean that we don’t currently plan on doing a limited edition of NBA Solo Ops, sorry about that!
Any indication if there will be a limited edition for this?
We hope so, but we’re really not sure at the moment. All the printers we’re working with have massively jumped the prices of their limited editions, meaning we’d need to sell them at 1.5 times their current price to justify the cost of printing.
Hi, Cat, any news on the potential (or not) limited edition?
Thanks Ana – we may well do a limited edition version of this, I’ll need to check the pricing with our new printer.
Pre-ordered! Been looking forward to this and the Preview PDF does not disappoint. Awesome to see One-2-One expanding. Is there a timeline for when the print books might ship?
It’s just about to go into art & layout now, which will take 6-8 weeks, and then 2-3 months for printing, so it should be shipping in July.
Still on track for July? It’s almost July! Thanks!
Hey Jason, we’ll be releasing the PDF to pre-orderers later this month, but yes, we’re still on track for shipping out in late July.
I’ll just have to be patient then. I assume limited editions would be published later than the regular ones?
Yes, usually!
Are there any plans to create a one-on-one version of Ashen Stars?
Hey Geoff, we have far too many ideas for One-2-One – which includes an Ashen Stars one – and unfortunately, not enough time to do them all! It’s on the list, but it might not happen soon.
Will the stand-alone PDF go on sale once the books have shipped?
Yes, but not for a while – we release the PDFs three months after the print book.
a) so good!
b) SO GOOD
:D Thanks Patrick!
Can’t wait to lay my virtual hands on the pdf, before actually grabbing the real thing.
Espionnage RPG are so welle suited for one-2-one play !
Thank you so much –
Any news on the hard copies shipping? Last news I heard was the email confirming address, and a hope on here that it would be out by the end of July?
(Don’t wish to appear grabby or ungrateful- just making sure nothing’s gone wrong at my end!)
Hey Jon, I thought these had already shipped – I’m checking in with our US and UK shippers now to find out what’s going on with them.
Thanks, Cat, I appreciate it.
It arrived Friday – looks gorgeous, very happy!
Hi Jon. I’m really pleased to hear you’re happy with it! Becky
Hi Cat, I preordered also and have yet to receive a print copy. Any news on that? And no I haven’t seen an email notification on it either. I am in the US btw.
Hi Michael. The pre-orders were shipped last week so this should be currently working its way to you. Thanks, Becky
After purchasing is the PDF available immediately or is it also in a pre order status?
Best Regards,
Thanks for the question – the fully laid-out PDF is available immediately on purchasing.
Hullo! When can we buy the PDF? I live in the Philippines and shipping is prohibitive in terms of costs and creative accounting by our post office.
Hi Alexander.
PDFs are released 3 months after a core book is released. So this should be part of December’s See Page XX (https://site.pelgranepress.com/index.php/see-page-xx/) which will be released on the 1st working day of December.
Thanks
Becky
Just checking in to see when the books ship. Looking forward to it.
Hi James. The books were shipped last week, so this should be working its way to you now. Becky
Great! Thank you.
I just have to say, I’ve been running through this with a friend (just finished Never Say Dead), and we’ve both been having an amazing time with it. This system is incredible for storytelling; the accumulation of problems and edges is an excellent system; my friend really agonizes over getting problems and works at clearing them the best she can.
Thank you for making it. We plan on using it with the Dracula Dossier once we’ve finished the modules in the core campaign.
I’m so pleased to hear you’re happy with this! Becky
I saw in an earlier comment that there may be suggestions for converting the Dracula dossiers to One 2 One in this book or elsewhere. Did it make it into the book, if not is it available anywehre?
I just got the dracula dossier books in the mail and they look great, I’d love to run it one on one.
Hi Trey. NBA:Solo Ops contains three adventures, which are not part of the Dracula Dossier background, but which can easily be incorporated into it. Half the book is rules and guidelines for running NBA one on one and it would be really good if you want to play the Dracula Dossier with a single player. Thanks, Becky
Thanks, I’m still working my way through the Dracula Dossier, awesome setting!
One more question, Do I need this book and the NBA core book to run Dracula Dossier with one player? Thanks for the help Becky.
You should be ok with just the Solo Ops book and the Dracula Dossier Director’s Handbook/Dracula Unredacted. There are a few rules and references that aren’t covered by Solo Ops, but nothing mission-critical – you can get by without the NBA core.
Doing conversion notes in some form is on my to-do list, but finding a middle ground between “a few quick guidelines” and “something about half the size of the Dossier handbook” is proving tricky!
Cool, I’d be willing to pay for half the size of dracula dossier as a supplement!
Cool! I’m certainly looking forward to it. The Dracula Dossier is one of the best campaign books I’ve ever read.
I am interested in pre-ordering, at least to get PDF access. But what would the shipping costs to France be?
Hey Raphael. NBA: Solo Ops is no longer on pre-order so you can order it now. Shipping to France will be £7.86. Thanks, Becky
Thank you for putting out Solo Ops for Night’s Black Agents. These are some very well thought out scenarios.
I think that I have found a problem in Solo Ops. The Problem cards are missing Problem 41. In the scenario text you have two Problem 42’s. The first one in on page 155 in the We Could Have Been Sisters Challenge. The problem is listed as Stokovitch Kicked Your Ass. The second Problem 42 is on page 156 in the No Escape Challenge. The problem is listed as Sole Survivor. After those two problems all of the rest of the Problem Cards (#45-#49) are off by one number i.e. Problem 45 should be Problem 44.
Hi Mark. I’m sorry there are errors in the book; thank you for making us aware of this. I have passed your comment on to my colleagues. Thanks, Becky.
Hi,
I love reading the book so far, but I was hoping you could help me with understanding when general abilities deplete from two to one or zero dice…use an ability -1 to general ability…stunt with an ability -2 to general ability, but it’s my understanding that an ability at one or zero will mechanically get you one die the next time you use it? Is this correct and if so what’s the difference between having one die in a general ability and having no dice left in a general ability?
This is amazing to read guys. Question: are there plans for a Cthulhu Confidential style deck of problem cards etc?
Hi Conor. There are blank card templates available to download on the Solo Ops resources page, but there isn’t a physical deck available and there are no plans for one. Thanks, Becky.
