Introduction to Jess

Heyhihello!

I’m Jess, and I’m here to be a part-time Digital Media Manager. Which boils down to — I want to hear & curate all your stories with our line of games and squeal over your experiences! Also, I have plans to make a shiny video here & there and post plenty of nifty nerd pics. My conversion from video games to TTRPG’s began three years ago, but kicked into gear by going to my first con in 2018 (Origins) and I’m hooked! There’s something about the collaborative narrative genre that fulfills my need for creativity & interaction. Oddly enough, I’ve spent more time facilitating & playing games at conventions or on-stream via Twitch than I have at a local table, and I’m always ready to chat about how to make any table a great experience!

Away from the table, I’m a third degree black belt in taekwondo, with a smattering of training in hapkido, judo, jiu jitsu, boxing, and mixed martial arts. After teaching for twelve years, I’ve started researching how to incorporate physical therapy & functional fitness into the martial arts regime. Professionally, I’ve been a jack of all trades: retail, food service, office space…I know it well. I ran several different video game stores of various volume, cooked/served/delivered Chinese food, and ran accounts payable for property management. I could easily run a series of one-shots based off the stories from these jobs!

My focus in the tabletop industry is equity through diversity and accessibility. As October pans out, I’ll be searching for all the Trail of Cthulhu & Nights Black Agents shenanigans the community is doing. I look forward to interacting with you all online and seeing you around in the con space!

PS: Always ask me about my animal children. 😹🐶
