Night’s Black Agents: Solo Ops

No backup.

No allies.

You’re all alone in the darkness. Just you… and them.

NBA: Solo Ops

Written by Gareth Ryder-Hanrahan (The Dracula Dossier, The Zalozhniy Quartet) Night’s Black Agents: Solo Ops is a stand-alone RPG which applies the GUMSHOE One-2-One rules to the award-winning Night’s Black Agents setting of spies vs. vampires.

One GM, one player – an explosive mix for a high-octane combat, or a cold-blooded chess game between a lone hero and the forces of darkness. Together, you plunge into an occult thriller that pits the gadgets and skills of a clandestine operative against the ancient horror of the vampires.

  • Can’t find an entire game group who can play when you can?
  • Want an intense head-to-head gaming experience?
  • Looking for a game to play online which fits superbly with virtual tabletops?

NBA: Solo Ops adds stunts, Mastery Edges, Shadow Problems and more to the One-2-One system.

Create your own Agent, or play as Leyla Khan – ex-MI6, ex-thrall of the vampires, now committed to hunting down and destroying her former masters before they recapture her. Sift through the ashes of Khan’s former life to find the clues you need to map the vampire conspiracy, then hunt down and slay the Undead.

Ok I want this yesterday!!! :)

  4. Johan says:

So are the scenarios _designed_ for the pre-made character, the way (I assume) Cthulhu Confidential’s are? Or is it just a pre-made that should fit but isn’t massively integrated?

Hoping for the former, but either way, really looking forward to it!

    • Gareth Ryder-Hanrahan says:

The scenarios are designed for the pre-made character. However, it’s easier to strip or repurpose a Night’s Black Agents scenario for another character than it is a Cthulhu Confidential character, as regardless of your precise circumstances, you’re always playing a badass ex-spy vampire hunter of some description.

This is great! When can we expect this? Sometime in 2018?

Any news on NBA one-2-one release date?
Also, are you planning to publish Dracula Dossier for one-2-one version?
If no, will DD be still playable in solo version?

  9. Lex says:

Any news so far? Any chance of playtesting? Would kill for even a small preview.

  10. David says:

Just wanted to chime in that I’m interested in a 1-on-1 version of NBA also, keep up the good work guys!

  11. marcin says:

I know I am boring, but maybe any updates? :)

    • Colleen Riley says:

We’re currently looking at an October release date. Further details will be announced in See Page XX.

  12. Claudia says:

If you release this on the 17th of October, you’ll be giving me the best birthday gift ever, just saying.

Also, will there be a “limited edition” version of it like there was for Cthulhu Confidential?

(Please say yes. I’m a sucker for limited editions)

    • Colleen Riley says:

There will probably be a limited edition. We’ll announce more info regarding types of editions later.

  13. Michael P says:

Any updates on a release date for NBA Solo Ops? Thanks!

    • Colleen Riley says:

It is currently on schedule to be released in February but as we get closer to then, we’ll keep you updated via See Page XX.

      • Michael P says:

Thanks for the update on the expected release. Do you have an estimate on cost so I can save up my pennies! :)

        • Colleen Riley says:

Printing prices have increased and we don’t know the final page count yet so unfortunately, we don’t have an estimated price yet. We’ll announce it as soon as we do though.

  14. Ana S says:

Any indication if there will be a limited edition for this?

    • Cat Tobin says:

We hope so, but we’re really not sure at the moment. All the printers we’re working with have massively jumped the prices of their limited editions, meaning we’d need to sell them at 1.5 times their current price to justify the cost of printing.

  15. J. Morgan says:

Pre-ordered! Been looking forward to this and the Preview PDF does not disappoint. Awesome to see One-2-One expanding. Is there a timeline for when the print books might ship?

  16. Geoff Skellams says:

Are there any plans to create a one-on-one version of Ashen Stars?

    • Cat Tobin says:

Hey Geoff, we have far too many ideas for One-2-One – which includes an Ashen Stars one – and unfortunately, not enough time to do them all! It’s on the list, but it might not happen soon.
